The handle is moving freely on both sides and it appears to be unlocked but it just won t open. You will very likely need a new lock as the spring inside has probably broken. I have a full view pella storm door that is now refusing to open. If the door hangs or doesn t latch the door latch is not properly aligned.

A loose handle should be tightened to function properly. If the handle must be lifted to open or close the door the hardware is upside down. Twist the hinge rail screws a quarter turn each counterclockwise using a flat screwdriver. This loosens the tension in the hinges to make the door easier to open.

If you cant get help from pella let me know and i will see if the lock is available. A pella storm door that is difficult to open or close may be the result of a faulty or misaligned door latch. Pry off the plastic covers loosen the screws and slide the strikes up or down a few millimeters. The door might be difficult to latch and release if the strikes are misaligned.
